In some cases, an Android device will not prompt the user to accept the host computers RSA key.

This prompt is used so as to secure the link between the host and the phone/tablet.

Follow the steps outlined below to force the prompt to appear on the device.

Known devices that this effects:

  • Zte Blade 3
  • LG G Pad 10.1
  • LG G Pad 7
  • LG F60
  • LG G3

For more recent Android devices, the USB debugging feature is secured with RSA fingerprints. You should be familiar with the following screen.

Some devices, when plugged in in USB debugging mode, will not show this prompt (and thus not connect USB debugging properly) until the device is put into PTP mode. The default connect is MTP.

Please see the screenshots below, they outline the steps needed for the USB Debugging to be connected to the Tabernus host.

1) With the device unplugged, place it into USB debugging mode, and plug it in to the host PC.

2) Pull down the notification drawer from the top of the screen and click on the USB symbol (Media device (MTP))

3) The USB PC connection page of Settings will be opened. Select Send images (PTP)

4) Allow USB debugging
