Some clients appear to be incorrectly burning the downloaded software (iso) whereby they burn the iso file to disk, and not the image the iso holds.

Other customers have burned the Erase software to a disk and then searched the disk looking for an install or .exe file. It may also not be clear what the result of loading the software to a computer will be.

So, having downloaded the Tabernus EE LAN/Array software:

1.  Open the .iso file in your chosen DVD burning software:  in Windows 7, when you click on an iso file, the Windows Disc Image Burner automatically opens, but not all operating system versions will be the same. It is important not to simply drag the file and drop onto the DVD drive – this will simply copy the iso ‘as is’ to the disc, rather than burning the image we need.

2.  Once your disk is burnt, you can check it’s correct by looking at the files that are now on the DVD.  There should be five folders shown with Diskpurge being one of them (probably at the top). If you have these files, the disc is ready to use.

3.  Restart the computer and ensure that it boots from the DVD. At the POST screen choose Boot Options (or similar). On some machines it is necessary to press F12, or Esc etc. – but this will depend upon your hardware. If all else fails, go into the BIOS and manually set the boot options to ensure the DVD drive is the first boot option. If you are unsure about how to do any of this, call us.

When the computer boots from the DVD, it is important to know that any data or operating systems on that machines hard drive will be erased: you are essentially installing the Tabernus software as a new operating system.
